    “Stroom” for symphony orchestra by Symfonieorkest Nijmegen

    An ode to Nijmegen and the Waal river, played at a celebration of the municipality of Nijmegen.

    For their 50th anniversary Symfonieorkest Nijmegen commissioned an ouverture celebrating the city of Nijmegen. I chose to write an ode to the Waal river – the vast river that has played a vital role in the city’s long history, dating as far back as roman times.
